The Lincoln Lewis and Clark Sewer District was incorporated in 1980 through a vote of the citizens of Lincoln, MT. The sewer solved the problem of wastewater contamination of the shallow wells for drinking water. The system moves and treats the effluent from the individual homes and business septic tanks by using a series of cisterns and pumps ending in facultative lagoons and a wastewater irrigation system.
The system was built in 1986 with major upgrades completed in 1999 and 2018.
The Lincoln Lewis and Clark Sewer District currently serves 383 residences and 48 businesses. These services keep the beautiful little community of Lincoln, MT flourishing.
